| Biasca and Riviera |
For those approaching from the north,
the Riviera Valley opens quite suddenly at the point where
the alpine valleys of Leventina and Blenio intersect.
From Biasca to the Moesa tributary, villages on both slopes
offer attentive visitors hints of their past that merge
with the image of modern industrialization.
Romanesque clock towers and churches, aristocratic homes,
ancient hamlets on both plain and mountains, granite quarries,
high-tech factories, farming and breeding all allude to
the local population’s traditions and dedication
to work.
An ideal climate, picturesque vegetation, vineyards and
chestnut groves, crystal clear streams gurgling from the
granite rocks of the lateral valleys, breathtaking vistas
from hillocks and peaks all offer tourists a serene setting
for relaxation and pleasure.
The Riviera Valley gives visitors the chance to take in
fantastic nature trails and visit interesting monuments
and ruins that bear witness to the historical and artistic
importance of these transit routes.
